18-109 Authorize the Town Manager to enter into a contract with Arizona Trench Company for trenching, installation of underground conduits, pull boxes and equipment pads for District 30 Overhead to Underground Conversion Project in an amount of $659,196 and authorize payment of $159,757 to Arizona Public Service and $113,286.63 to CenturyLink upon completion of District 30 in Fiscal Year 2019 and authorize a budget transfer from FY2017-18 CIP Project 2016-14.1 Lincoln Drive - Ritz Related Roadway Improvements to CIP Project 2016-02 APS District 30 to fund the town's portion of the project.

    I am strongly in favor of this project. I went door to door or called to educate neighbors asking for their support. I also went to each house on Jackrabbit and the GM of the Doubletree and asked for their support / payment. I kept our neighbors informed on how much we had raised and how close we were to our goal, until our goal was reached. The current cost is unfortunate, however we ask the Council to vote yes and improve our neighborhood views and values. Sincerely, Jacque Beyrami

    We have lived in the Neighborhood for over 37 years. Although a portion of the Neighborhood is in Paradise Valley and a portion is in Scottsdale, we have always acted as 1 neighborhood.

    The Neighborhood accepted the Town’s offer to underground the utilities by contributing $114,500 in June 2016.

    We appreciate the Town’s efforts to complete the project , and we urge the Mayor and Council to honor the Town’s past commitment to the Neighborhood.
